Hydraulic System Flashcards
What components are on the hydraulic system 1 of the EMB145?
Aileron system 1, rudder system 1, inboard spoilers, outboard brakes, #1 thrust reversers, steering system, landing gear and the air stare main door (If installed).
The “HYD SYS 1 (2) OVHT” EICAS message activates above what temperature?
90*C
What components are powered by the hydraulic system 2?
Ailerons system 2, rudder system 2, outboard spoilers, inboard brakes, #2 thrust reversers and the emergency brakes.
What would depressing the “Eng pump shutoff” button on the hydraulic panel will accomplish?
It will shutoff the fluid supply to the engine hydraulic pump. By doing so, it is very possible that the pump will over heat and possibly shear or seize since the pump won’t have any lubrication.
Which hydraulic system powers the emergency brakes accumulator?
Hydraulic system #2
When on the AUTO position, when would the electric hydraulic pump will operate?
When ever the hydraulic pressure drops bellow 1600psi or N2 becomes less than 56.4%
What is the purpose of the hydraulic priority valve?
The valve gives hydraulic pressure priority to the flight controls over retracting landing gear on a dual hyd fluid pressure request scenario.
How many applications can the hydraulic system 2 accumulator is capable of supplying?
6 applications
How long can the emergency brakes pressure be sustained?
24 hrs.
What is the total pressure supply of hydraulic pump during normal flight?
3,000 psi.
Can the hydraulic temperature be monitored on the EICAS or MFD’s?
No.
Can the hydraulic system fluid levels be monitored on the EICAS or MFD’s?
Yes; MFD hydraulic page.
What ways could hydraulic fluid pressure be shut-off?
Electrical hyd pump with associated engine off; Engine pump shut-off button if engine and/or electrical hyd pumps are running; or the engine fire handle pulled.
The ailerons are normally powered by which system?
Both, hydraulic system 1 and 2.
What hydraulic system powers the nose wheel steering?
Hydraulic system #1.
How many accumulators each hydraulic system have?
One
Where is the hydraulic system service panel?
Hydraulic nose compartment.
What is the purpose of the accumulators?
The accumulators protect the system from surges, and help keep the system at 3,000 psi during LDG operation(system 1) or Emergency parking brake(system 2).
What would the amber range represents on the hydraulic quantity scale?
The reservoir has reach a level of 1 liter or below.
When would the electric hydraulic pump be activated assuming there respective engine was operating?
If the engine driven pump pressure drops below 1600 psi or the respective engine goes below 56.4% N2.
Can the hydraulic system pressure be monitored on the EICAS or MFD’s?
No.
When would the hydraulic fluid quantity indicator become amber?
When the quantity is equal to or less than 1 liter.
