Cold engine, warm engine

A

The engine must warm up 4 minutes for cold engines or 2 minutes for warm engines.

34
Q

What limitations are imposed on the EMB145 windshield wipers?

A

The windshield wipers should not be operated above 170 knots or on dry windshield surfaces.

35

A

500’ AGL.

35
Q

When descending into an airport, what is the highest altitude the flaps can be extended?

A

FL 200.

36
Q

During a visual approach, what is the minimum autopilot disengagement hight?

A

200’ AGL.

37
Q

What is the minimum autopilot disengagement hight for a CAT I ILS approach?

A

200’ AGL.

38
Q

While on a CAT II ILS, what is the minimum autopilot disengagement hight?

A

85’ AGL.

39
Q

What is the minimum autopilot disengagement hight for a non-precision approach?

A

BEFORE LEAVING MDA.

40
Q

When landing below what temperature would a MX inspection is required?

A

-40*C

41
Q

Assuming the engine was cold but it has run for more than 4 minutes, can the Flight Crew takeoff if the engine oil temperature is 38*C?

A

No; to increase N2 above 83%, the engine oil temperature must be at a minimum of 40*C. In lieu of this limitation it is permissible to either run the engine for at least 8 minutes or complete a static run-up to 88% N2, allow the engine to stabilize and check that the oil pressure is equal to or less than 83 psi.

42
Q

What is the acceptable oil pressure while taxing?

A

During taxi the N2 is <88% and the oil pressure should be on the green range (34 to 110 psi all engines).

43
Q

What are the landing gear operating speeds for retraction and extension on the EMB145? and; What is the landing gear extended speed limitation for the EMB145?

A

Vlo retraction/extension = 200/250 knots.

Vle = 250 knots.

44
Q

Assuming the engine oil temperature is -15*C; Can the engines be started?

A

Yes, the minimum engine oil temperature for starting is -40*C. Keep in mind that the engine oil pressure maybe exceeded. If so; engine must remain at IDLE until engine oil pressure is less than 110 psi.

45
Q

What is the maximum tail wind component for the EMB145?

A

10 knots.

46
Q

On the takeoff role the engine oil pressure increases to 112 psi. Is this acceptable? Would an increase to 118 psi should be allowed?

A

Ops between 111 and 115 psi engine oil pressure (EOP) is permitted during all phases of flight but is time limited to 5 minutes. Operations between 116 and 155 psi is also permitted in all phases of flight but time limited to 2 minutes. However; Total time above 110 psi EOP may not exceed 5 minutes.

47
Q

During takeoff, the engine oil pressure drops to 42 psi. Should the takeoff be aborted?

A

No, while this is an abnormal condition, operation between 34 and 48 psi for A1E engines or 34 to 50 psi for A1P engines is permitted during takeoff and go around phases of flight.

48
Q

What is the maximum N1 value for the EMB145?

A

49
Q

How long can the EMB145 remain in takeoff thrust setting?

A

5 minutes.

50
Q

How long can the engine vibration be sustained on the amber range?

A

The engine vibration may be exceeded up to but not included to 2.5 IPS for 5 minutes during takeoff or go-around phases of flight. Else is 10 seconds.
