Landing Gear & Brakes Flashcards
Do we have the anti-skid, locked wheel and touchdown protection, when using the emergency brakes?
No
Do we have nose wheel steering on essential power?
No.
Which brakes receive hydraulic pressure when operating the emergency brakes?
All main gear brakes.
What does the free-fall actuator do?
It extends the landing gear by mechanically actuating the free-fall selector valve, thus removing hydraulic pressure and unlocking the three landing gear leg unlock arms via cable linkage. All three gears will gravity fall to their down lock position.
With of a total lost of hydraulic system #1, will the landing gear extend normally?
No, the landing gear system operates out off system 1 and system 1 only.
When in essential power, would the brake work normally?
Yes.
How is the nose wheel tire rotation stopped on retraction?
Mechanically and through the snubber.
How is the landing gear extended in essential power?
Normally
What is the purpose of the landing gear electrical override switch?
The electrical override system is used to extend the landing gear should there be a normal landing gear extension failure. The system bypasses the LGEU and directly actuates the landing gear electro valve and the nose gear door solenoid valve.
How are the tire chines mounted on the nose landing gear?
Outboard
