what is it?
A
a tumour which in and of itself doesn’t produce any hormone but which through growth can disrupt the structures around it or the function of the gland

what are the potential presentations?
A
if it grows out of the pituitary cavity it causes
- compression on the optic chiasma
- compression on other structures e.g. CN 3,4,6
if it grows into the pituitary and stops hormone production
- hypoadrenalism
- hypothyroidism
- hypogonadism
- (diabetes insipidus)
- GH deficiency
