Penetrate (An Area)
To move the ball or make a run into a space that the opposition is trying to protect, usually through the defense or midfield.
Dominate Possession
To control the ball for the majority of the game, often through short passing, movement, and maintaining a high level of control.
Get On The End Of A Cross
To position yourself in the right spot to meet a cross from a teammate, usually with the aim of heading or shooting the ball toward goal.
Provide Width
To position yourself wide on the pitch, usually as a winger or fullback, to stretch the opposition’s defense.
Play OVER The Press
To bypass an opposing team’s pressing defense by playing a long pass or ball over the top, instead of trying to pass through their high defensive line.
Play THROUGH The Press
To pass the ball quickly and accurately through the lines of the opposition’s pressing defense, often with short, precise passes.
