Attack The Box
To move toward the penalty area with the intention of creating or finishing a scoring opportunity.
Flood The Box
To send multiple players into the penalty area, usually during a cross or set-piece, to create more attacking options and increase the chances of scoring.
Attack The Far Post
To make a run toward the far side of the goal, often during a cross or set-piece, with the aim of receiving the ball and attempting to score.
Attack The Near Post
To make a run toward the goalpost closest to the ball, often aiming to get in position for a quick finish, header, or to meet a cross that is played toward that side.
Attack Space
To make a run into an open area of the pitch, usually behind the defenders or into areas where there is no immediate pressure.
Cut Inside
To move from the wide areas (like the wing) toward the center of the pitch, often with the ball.
