Animal trials:
reduced number of animals from two species. make sure animal don’t suffer and replace use of animal if possible
clinical trials:
- first tested on healthy humans volunteers
- next small group with condition aiming to cure
- finally large number of patients with condition
what is a double blind test
to overcome placebo affect
à number of volunteers will be given a placebo however the doctors of patient wont know has received the drug to keep the testing fair
