Sinus headache
Trauma to the head -> headache begins days after the event, Persist for over a week and does not go away
Subdural hematoma
Seven onset of severe headache, vomiting, meningismus
Subarachnoid hemorrhage
Patient taking warfarin falls and bumps his head
Subdural hematoma
Brief loss of consciousness following Head trauma; rapid clinical deterioration hours later

Biconvex shaped hematoma on the head CT
Epidural hematoma
Crescent shaped hematoma on head CT
Subdural hematoma
Seizure localized to one area of the brain, paresthesias, purposeless movement, no loss of consciousness, EEG shows focal abnormalities (temporal lobe)
Simple partial seizure
Hallucinations, automatism, loss of consciousness, postictal state (5-30 min), EEG shows focal abnormalities (temporal lobe)
Complex partial seizure
Staring spell, no postictal state, EEG shows 3 hz (cycle per second) Spike and wave pattern
Petit mal (absence) seizure
muscle contraction and/or relaxation depending on type, more significant postictal state, EEG shows generalized abnormalities
Generalized (myoclonic, tonic clonic, tonic, atonic) seizure
Life-threatening seizure that last longer than five minutes or recurrent without regaining consciousness between seizures
Status epilepticus - can cause permit brain damage or death
Drug of choice for absence seizures
ethosuximide
