the anterior rami of C5-8 and T1
What is the pattern of the brachial plexus
Roots - Trunks - Divisions - Cords - Branches/Nerves
Where does the musculocutaneous branch supply
the arm, anterior compartment muscles (motor)
lateral cutaneous nerve of the forearm (sensory)
Where does the medican branch supply
forearm, anterior compartment muscles, hand, thenar muscles (motor) and 1/2 skin of the palm (sensory)
ulnar branch
Forearm, 1 1/2 muscles, hand, small muscles (motor) and 1/2 skin of the hand (sensory)
where does the radial branch supply
arm, posterior compartment muscles (motor)
forearm, posteolateral skin and hand, dorsal skin (sensory)
Where does the axillary branch supply
deltoid and teres minor muscles (motor)
skin of the supra-lateral arm (sensory)
Upper BP Injuries (Erb’s palsy)
– Roots C5, 6
– Waiters Tip
Lower BP Injuries (Klumpkey’s palsy)
– Roots C8, T1
– Ulnar Claw – intrinsic hand muscles
