Self-limiting rash on face and trunks in 50% of neonates
Red papules and vesicules surrounded by red blotches which sometimes look like halos

Most spontaenously regress and can be managed conservatively

Deep red/purple irregular patch
Face, scalp, neck or upper trunk
Usually pink in childhood
Darkens to deep red/purple in adulthood
