Pathophysiology
A
Occurs when meconium is passed in utero (meconium in liquor) or during brith and is inhaled

When does it tend to happen?
A
With a post-term baby
In response to acute hypoxia

What can it lead to?
A
Pneumonitis and obstruction with latter leading to collapse or pneumonthorax
Pulmonary Hypertension
Surfactant dysfunction

What would you see on CXR?
A
Patchy atelectasis/consolidation

Management
A
Intubation for suction
Inhaled nitrous oxide
Antibiotics may be required
