Position Summary
The position is responsible for performing accounting activities including data entry, accounts payable, cash reconciliation and receipt tracking for multiple clients. In addition, the position will perform administrative office duties including formatting policy/procedure documents, drafting letters, updating spreadsheets, record retention/filing, travel booking, and delivery/pick up of information from clients.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Entering and recording data into QuickBooks for payables
Data entry of transactions into Quickbooks
Receipt tracking/cash reconciliation
Maintain continuous line of communication, keeping management informed of all critical issues
Creating and completing documents and files as needed for accounting purposes.
Ensuring that all accounting transactions are complete and error free
Handling troubleshooting issues quickly, accurately and professionally
Formatting and review of policy and procedures for errors
Maintaining files and record retention guidelines
Professionally interaction with clients for delivery/pickup of information
Ability to take and follow directions from supervisor
Exercise discretion in the review of records to ensure confidentiality
CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS / PROFILE
EDUCATION
Bachelors degree.
EXPERIENCE
2+ years’ experience in accounting with experience with QuickBooks
CHARACTERISTICS / PROFICIENCIES
Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel Fast & accurate data entry skills Above average computer skills Analytic ability is required Detail-oriented Well organized, self-directed and the ability to work in a team Excellent communication skills' Job Type: Full-time

We are looking for a skilled Accounting Clerk to perform a variety of accounting, bookkeeping and financial tasks. Accounting Clerk responsibilities include keeping financial records updated, preparing reports and reconciling bank statements. You will run accounting software programs to process business transactions, like accounts payable and receivable, disbursements, expense vouchers and receipts. A successful accounting assistant should be familiar with all accounting procedures and have a flair for numbers. Ultimately, a successful Accounting Clerk will ensure that the company’s daily accounting functions run accurately and effectively.
Responsibilities
Provide accounting and clerical support to the accounting department
Type accurately, prepare and maintain accounting documents and records
Prepare bank deposits, general ledger postings and statements
Reconcile accounts in a timely manner
Daily enter key data of financial transactions in database
Provide assistance and support to company personnel
Research, track and restore accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies
Inform management and compile reports/summaries on activity areas
Function in accordance with established standards, procedures and applicable laws
Constantly update job knowledge
Skills
Proven accounting experience, preferably as an Accounts receivable clerk or Accounts payable clerk
Familiarity with bookkeeping and basic accounting procedures
Competency in MS Office, databases and accounting software
Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and financial reports
Accuracy and attention to detail
Aptitude for numbers
Ability to perform filing and record keeping tasks
Data entry and word processing skills
Well organized
High school degree
Associate’s degree or relevant certification is a plus
