Course of External Jugular Vein
A
- Begins near angle of mandible below parotid gland, by union of posterior Auricular Vein and posterior division of Retromandibular vein
- Descends obliquely on surface of Sternomastoid
- 1 inch above clavicle, it pierces deep fascia of roof of posterior triangle to reach subclavian Vein

- Descends in superficial fascia near the midline to reach suprasternal Notch
- It then shifts laterally, in front of Internal Jugular V and scalenus Anterior, deep to sternomastoid
- it ends in External Jugular V
