A

Won the Battle of Lodi in May 1796; proceeded to Milan

Why did Italian campaign weaken the directory

A

The directory was reliant on the money N sent them back- eg Milan had to pay over 20m francs to Fr states
N also bonded with troops- he promised that they would receive half their wages in silver and gold not depreciated paper money
