Q

Lumbrical Muscles

A

There four,
Location: Located deep to the thenar and hypothenar muscles
Arise from the tendons of the flexor digitorum produndus muscle, and insert into the tendons of the extensor digitorum and interossei muscles
Function: Worm like structures, act in waving, flexing the metacarpo-phalangeal joints and extending the interphalangeal joints

17
Q

Dorsal Interossei muscles

A

4 muscles
Location: Located deep to the thenar and hypothenar muscles. Insert onto the proximal phalanges
Function: abduct the medial digits (Not the thumb)

18
Q

First Dorsal Interosseous muscle

A

Bluging away from the metacarpal bones of the thumb and index finger, insert on the lateral side of the index finger proximal phalanx.
