- A: depression and adduction of eyeball

- O: lesser wing of the sphenoid above & anterior optic canal
- I: tarsal plate, skin & fascia of upper eyelid
- A: elevation of upper eyelid
- N: oculormotor nerve (CN III)

- floor of orbit lateral to lacrimal groove
- I: sclera beneath the lateral rectus (on laterl - inferior aspect of eye)
- A: abduction, rotation upward & laterally; elevation of adducted eye
- N: oculomotor nerve

- O: common tendinous ring
- I: sclera just behind the cornea on the lateral aspect of the eye
- A: abduction of eye ball (lateral deviation)
- N: Abducens nerve (CN VI)

- A: rotation downward & medially; depression of adducted eye
