A: extend thigh, flex leg and rotate medially when knee is flexed,
extends trunk when thigh and leg are flexed
biceps femoris long head
O: ischial tuberosity
I: lat side of head of fibula, tendon splits here by LCL
N: tibial division of sciatic nerve L5, S1, S2
A: flexes leg and laterally rotates it when its flexed, extends thigh
biceps femoris short head
O: linea aspera and lateral supracondylar line of femur
I: lateral side of head of fibula, tendon splits here by LCL
N: common fibular division of sciatic nerve L5, S1, S2
A: flexes leg and laterally rotates it when its flexed, extends thigh
