Murmur buzz words Flashcards
Crescendo-Decrescendo systolic ejection murmur
Aortic stenosis.
Holosystolic high pitch blowing murmur?
Mitral/Tricuspid regurgitation.
The smaller little valves (non aortic/pulmonic) are like small little whistles.
Late systolic crescendo murmor with a midsystolic click
Mitral valve prolapse.
Code here is that its late…. LATE.
A holosystolic harsh sounding murmur
harsh sounding tells you swishing!!
Ventricular septal defect.
A high pitched blowing sound with early diastolic decrescendo murmur
The key here is diastolic decrescendo murmur
Tells you its diastolic = aortic regurgitation.
Follows an opening snap with a delayed rumbling late diastolic murmur
Mitral stenosis!!
The key again is that its diastolic and delayed rumble is very characteristic of this disease.
Continuous machine like murmur heard loudest S2
Patent ductus arteriosis
Anything that is harsh or machine like, thing swishing of blood.
