In January 2012, in a cold, grey morning in Manhattan, NYC was hit by a heavy snowstorm the night before.

Having just brewed his coffee, Mr. Banks received a call on his landline. It was Merina, the nurse who took care of his mother, Katarzyna Bankowski. Merina couldn’t stop crying over the phone.

Niko knew exactly what had happened. In short, he told Merina to calm down and wait, assuring her that he would be there in no time.

On the other hand, Niko observed his mother’s devotion from a distance. He admired her willingness to help those in need, but he couldn’t actively take part in any of her good deeds. He simply wasn’t savvy in that regard.

That day was Niko’s worst. He felt an overwhelming sorrow and a deep sense of loneliness. For this reason, he sought solace in the only place where he could be heard and release all his emotions.
