Oral thrush - infection of by candida fungus

What is the difference between oral candidiasis and leukoplakia?
Oral candidiasis can be scraped of the tongue
Leukoplakia cannot
What is leukoplakia?
Condition in which thick white/grey patches appear on the tongue
Pre-malignant sign
What is hairy leukoplakia?
Raised white patches
Caused by Epstein-Barr virus
Associated with weak immune systems - HIV
What is angular stomatitis?
Erythema and maceration of skin at the corners of mouth
What are some causes of angular stomatitis?
Vitamin B deficiencies
Iron deficiency
Candida infection

Small mouth
