Abdo pain
Rectal bleeding
DIarhhoea

What is acute mesenteric ischaemia?
Embolism occluding an artery that supplies the small bowel
What is the common feature of acute mesenteric ischaemia?
Severe sudden onset abdo pain
Out of proportion to examination finsings
How is acute mesenteric ischaemia managed?
Surgically
What is chronic mesenteric ischaemia?
Colickly intermittenet abdo pain due to recurrent micro blockages
What is ischaemic colitis?
Acute and transient compromise in blood flow to the large bowel
Which part of the bowel is commonly affected by ischaemic colitis?
Splenic flexure
How is ischaemic colitis managed?
Supportive management

- analgesia
