Motor representations Flashcards
Motor representations
Motor planning, preparing for motor action. sequence is learned and stores. Like with playing piano, audio cue is too late so need to learn motor sequence and store in the head
End-state comfort
Taking into account what the next action will be. Adapt sequencing by allowing adaptations (cup example)
General motor functions
Coordination
balance
Prediction
(Needed to program the sequences, mainly the caudate and putamen)
Cerebellar system
Takes care of time fine tuning and planning. Via basal ganglia, cerebellum, motor cortex into brain stem, sends out message to spinal cord which puts out to muscles
Loss of strength types
Damage to primary motorical strip, deficit maily contralesional
- Paralysis; complete loss of function
- Paresis ; partial loss of function
- Hemiparesis; paresis in limbs on one side
- Anosognosia; loss of motor function coincide with loss of body ownership. Not seeing it as your own
