MODULE 1.05 Train-Optimize 1.5 HOW DO WE TRAIN? Flashcards
At which point in the microcycle and/or session is it considered
appropriate to use small-sided games?
A small-sided game is how soccer is played on a smaller scale,
by reducing the number of components, instead of having 11 players
on the field or using all of the playing space. The space and the number of
players are reduced this is what a small-sided game (SSG) means.
It is a way of playing soccer on a smaller scale. It has so many advantages.
What you learn in an SSG reflects what actually happens in a game.
For example, the opponent may leave you with forty meters on the
field and no action, or in any playing situation you might try to pass
the ball and there’s no opponent around.
Well, the situation created in SSGs is just that
This is where real situations from real games are reproduced in a real way.
Its what happens at the micro-level in a soccer game, on a macro level,
where everything is played at the micro-level in all of the smaller spaces.
So, you’re continually experiencing specific playing situations.
In soccer, we must assess using both quantitative aspects and qualitative aspects
There is a specific playing context in SSGs that is qualitative and specific,
and the amount of times something happens in an SSG allows you to
identify more phenomena than in a comprehensive game. These are
completely superior values, which are unattainable in a macro-level game.
If you’re capable of doing something in a more reduced space with
opponents close by and you have to perform the task that you want,
you must use qualitative elements that are absolutely necessary for
a macro-level game and are provided by means of distance,
time and much broader situations.
The essence of soccer is that at the micro-level, in which actions
are executed inan instant has to do with the macro level;
