Mitosis phases Flashcards
Mono
one, single
Di
two, double
Poly
many, several
Interphase
-chromosomes duplicate
-nucleoli visable
-centrioles appear
Mitosis
the division of mother cell into two daughter cells with the genetic equivalence to the parent cell
Prophase
chromosomes condense, membrane breaks down, centrioles migrate to poles, spindle fibers form
Metaphase
homologous chromosomes line up, spindle fibers connect to centromeres
Anaphase
sister chromatids separate and migrate to opposite poles
Telephase
membrane reforms, nucleolus regenerates, chromosomes condense, membrane begins to cleavage
Cytokinesis
cytoplasm increases and separates cells, nuclear and membrane complete
G1,S,G2 (interphase)
-cellular contents except chromosomes are duplicated
-46 chromosomes are duplicated
-double-check duplicated chromosomes and fix errors
