FERROUS GLUCONATE

Brand name: Feosol, Fer-In-Sol, Slow-Fe

Mechanism: The major activity of supplemental iron is in the prevention and treatment of iron deficiency anemia. Iron has putative immune-enhancing, anticarcinogenic and cognition-enhancing activities.

Description: This medication is an iron supplement used to treat or prevent low blood levels of iron (such as those caused by anemia or pregnancy).

Dosing: 300mg

Common route(s): PO (Tablet)

Side effect(s): Constipation, diarrhea, stomach cramps, or upset stomach may occur. These effects are usually temporary and may disappear as your body adjusts to this medication. If any of these effects persist or worsen, contact your doctor or pharmacist promptly.
Iron may cause your stools to turn black, an effect that is not harmful.

ADDERALL

Brand name: Adderall

Chemical name: Dextroamphetamine-Amphetamine

Classification(s): Stimulant, Amphetamine, Simpathomimetic.

Mechanism: Dextroamphetamine is a noncatecholamine, sympathomimetic amine that acts as a CNS stimulant. Label Dextroamphetamine raises systolic and diastolic blood pressure, acts as a weak bronchodilator, and also acts as a respiratory stimulant. Label The general mechanism of action of dextroamphetamine has not been well established. Dextroamphetamine acts by preventing reuptake, increasing release, and stimulating reverse-transport of dopamine in synaptic clefts in the striatum.4 Newer evidence shows amphetamines may also alter the number of dopamine transporters in synaptic clefts.2
