What is magnesium inert gas MIG welding
Often used on tubular items such as bike frames, typically used to weld medium carbon steel or aluminium
What is tungsten inert gas TIG welding
Used on stainless steel and non ferrous metals, more skill, required in comparison to MIG welding as a separate filler rod is required - stainless steel boat ladders
What is brazing
Lower temperature than welding, suitable for low carbon tubes or bars, ideal for geenral fabrication - small furniture items, ornamental lights
What is soldering
Similar to brazing, used in lightweight applications like jewellery, also used on circuit boards
What is pop riveting
Rivet pushed through a metal hole already drilled into the product, then rivet is squashed, pulling the two metals together
What are other types of metal addition processes
Screws, nuts and bolts
