It breaks down and passes out of the vagina.
What is the endometrium?
Uterus Lining
What is the oviduct?
A muscular tube which carries the ovum from the ovary to the uterus.
If a ovum is fertilised in the Fallopian tubes, how does it become an embryo.
Cells divide and travel down the Fallopian tube into the uterus and attach to the endometrium (uterus lining). (Where it divides by mitosis).
What is the opening of the vagina?
Vulva
What is ‘the neck’ of the uterus?
Cervix
Oestrogen triggers secondary sexual characteristics.

Menstruation / Ovum release

What is the first stage?
The endometrium (uterus lining) breaks down for roughly 4 days.

What is the second stage?
From days 4 - 14, he uterus lining builds up again into a thick spongy layer full of blood vessels, ready to receive a fertilised egg.

An egg develops and is released from the ovary at day 14 - this is called ovulation.

What is the fourth stage?
The wall is maintained for about 14 days until the 28th day.

Ovaries; (by the remains of follicles after ovulation.)
