Q

Supraspinatus muscle. what tests for diagnosis?

A

Empty-can (thumb down) / full can (thumb up) –> patient abducts arm to 90 degrees with thumb up or down –> downward pressure applied to arm –> if elicits pain = answer SUPRASPINATUS INJURY.

Q

Subcapsularis. diagnostic test?

A

Gerber lift-off test = patient places dorsal aspect of hand on lower back, with palm facing posteriorly -> examiner applies pressure into the patient’s palm against his/her lower back -> patient then is asked to move hand away under the pressure -> if elicits pain/dificult to do = answer is subcapsularis injury.
