Mean rates of reaction. Flashcards
1
Q
What does time to product formed graph look like?
A
- First:
- The reaction is vert fast as alot of the reactant is being used up in the reaction to form the product. There is a lot of reactant molecules.
Second:
- The reaction slows down as a lot of the reactant molecules have already reacted and formed the product. Fewer reactant molecules.
- Slope is flat:
- Reaction has stopped as all reactant molcules have been used uo.
Solid=g.
Gas= cm^3

Q
How do we calculate the mean rate of reaction?
A
- Mean Rate of Reaction= Quantity of Product formed/time.
(g/s)(
(cm^3/s)

Q
How do we use tangenets to find the rate of reaction?
A
- Draw an tangent on the point we are interested in.
- Construct a triangle.
- Find the lengths of the sides of the triangle. grams and time.
- Divide Height by width.
