Q

How can empirical formula be calculated when given its masses?

A

mass/relative formula mass (to find moles)–> moles/ smallest moles —> ratio of components is formed

Q

What’s the difference between empirical and molecular formulas?

A

empirical formula - is the simplest, whole number ratio of atoms of each element in a compound
molecular formula - the actual amount of atoms of each element present in a compound
