What is the literal meaning of Mashoor?
It is an ism-ul-mafool derived from ‘I made the matter known’ when I announced it and I made it apparent and it has been named that because it became apparent.
What is the technical meaning of Mashoor?
That which has been narrated by 3 narrators or more in every generation but to the extent it does not reach the levels of tawatur.
What is the linguistic meaning of Al-Mustafeed?
It is an ismul fail from ‘abundance or to pour forth’ and it is derived from ‘the water flowed’ and it has been named like that because of its flowing/ spreading.
What is the technical meaning of Al-Mustafeed?
Its definition is disagreed upon into 3 opinions and they are:
-It is the same as mashoor
-It is a lot more specific than the mashoor hadith because it is stipulated in the mustafeed that both sides of the chain are equal and that is not a stipulation in the mashoor.
-It is more general than the mashoor meaning it is opposite to the 2nd definition.
What is Mashoor-ghair-istilahi?
What becomes famous on the tongues of the people without any stipulations and it includes:
That which has only 1 sanad.
That which has more than 1 sanad.
That which does not have any sanads at all and it is in its asl.
What are the 6 types of Mashoor ghair istilahi?
1: Famous between the people of hadith specifically.
2: Famous between the people of hadith, ulamma and the lay people.
3: Famous between fuqaha.
4: Famous between usooliyeen (legislators).
5: Famous between grammarians.
6: Famous amongs lay people.
What is the ruling of a Mashoor hadith?
Mashoor istilahi and ghair istilahi is not described in and of itself as sahih or ghair sahih initially. However, after discussion it is clear that from it is sahih and from it is hasan. And from it is weak and from it is fabricated also.
However if the mashoor istilahi is graded as sahih, then it is given preference over the aziz and ghareeb.
What is the linguistic meaning of a khabr wahid?
Ahad in the meaning of wahid. Khabr wahid is that which is narrated by one person.
What is the technical meaning of a khabr wahid?
That hadith, all of the conditions of mutawatir are not gathered upon it (i.e not in all generations).
What is the ruling of khabr wahid?
Gives the benefit of speculative knowledge, meaning knowledge which is dependent upon thoughts and evidence.
What is Mutawatir Ma’nawi?
It is when its meaning or its understanding is circulating and not its words for example the hadith of lifting the hands in dua it was narrated from Nabi (s.a.w) from around 100 hadiths.
Every hadith from them it was that the sahabahs stated that Nabi (s.a.w) lifted his hands in dua, but it was on different occasions.
And every occasion from them was not in succession (tawatur) and the amount of incidents that was shared conclusion between them and that is the lifting of the hands in dua becomes tawatur according to all of its sanads.
