What is the linguistic meaning of Ghareeb?
Sifat mushabah in the meaning of lonely, someone very far from his beloved ones.
What is the technical meaning of Ghareeb?
It is that khabr ghareeb which is narrated by 1 lonely alone single narrator. Even though it may be in 1 era/generation.
What is another name for Ghareeb?
Fard = fard mutlaq
Ghareeb = fard nasabee
The ulamma of definitions of hadith, they differentiated in between them (ghareeb and fard) and they classify each one of them as a different type, however, hafiz ibn hajar (r.h) counts them according to maximum and minimum usage. So fard, then will majority of the time be upon a fard-mutlaq and ghareeb, the majority of the time is upon fard nasabee.
Ghareeb can be divided into two types. What is Ghareeb Mutlaq?
Gharaba (loneliness) takes place in the asl sanad i.e only narrated by 1 single alone lonely narrator.
What is the actual (asl) sanad?
The sanad which is towards the sahabis, when being narrated from the side of the sahabi and only 1 sahabi is narrating this narration at his point of time.
Ghareeb can be divided into two types. What is Ghareeb Nasabee?
The loneliness has taken place in it according to a specific person.
What is the definition of ghareeb nasabee or fard nasabee?
The hadith where the loneliness takes place in within the middle of the sanad, meaning within the asl sanad. There is more than 1 narrator. Then from among those narrators in the asl sanad 1 narrator becomes alone.
This type is called ghareeb nasabee because the loneliness occurs in it towards one fixed individual.
What are the 4 types of ghareeb nasabee?
1: If a trustworthy narrator is alone in narrating the hadith.
2: When 1 specific narrator is alone from narrating from another specific narrator.
3: When the people of one city or people of 1 direction are alone in narrating the narrator.
4: The people of 1 city or the people of 1 direction are alone from another people of 1 city or from another 1 direction.
What are the two other types of Ghareeb?
Ghareeb by matan and sanad both: That hadith when the narrator is alone in narrating that matan.
Ghareeb according to isnaad, but not according to the matan: Matan is narrated by a group of sahabah and only 1 of them narrates of those 10 sahabi. Nobody else narrates from that one particular sahabi.
