Involves a product being given to customers and them then giving feedback on it,
What are the advantages to hall test?
relatively inexpensive to carry out, product is tried by participiant who can then give feedback on their actual experience,
What are the disadvanatges to hall test?
opinions may be difficult to analyse, respondents may give the opinion the business wants to hear rather than how they actually feel

Wathing something and recording what takes place,
What are the advantages of observation?
information is gathered instantly, easier to analyse the facts and figures,people being observed arent often aware so reactions are genuine
What are the disadvantages to observation?
privacu and ethical issues to be considered when watching people, participants may not be asked why they made certain desicions so the information gained is not complete
What are the advantages of telephone survey?
information obtained immediately, large amounts of people all arounf the world can be contacted, any points can be clarified by researcher,
