None with proper C-spine considerations
Procedure 1
Standard precautions
Head Tilt 1
Place the patient who has no spinal precautions supine, position yourself at the side of the patients head
Head Tilt 2
Place one hand on the patients forehead and using downward pressure with your palm, tilt the head back
Head Tilt 3
Put two fingers of the other hand under the bony part of the chin and lift the jaw anteriorly to open the airway
Jaw thrust 1
Place the patient with spinal precautions supine and knee behind their head.
Jaw thrust 2
Locate the index fingers on each side of the jaw behind the mandibular angles.
Jaw thrust 3
Lift the jaw forward (anteriorly), but DO NOT tilt the head.
