- Young male (<25 yrs)
- local swelling, pain and tenderness usually around knee
- can metastasise via blood stream
- affects metaphysis of long bones
what treatment are osteosarcomas resistant to?
radiotherapy
how are osteosarcomas managed?
surgery + chemotherapy
what cells are chondrosarcomas tumours of?
chondrocytes
where do chondrosarcomas tend to develop?
Proximal femur and pelvis
what can be seen on X-Ray in chondrosarcomas?
popcorn calcification

radio and chemotherapy

What are Ewing’s Sarcomas?
Tumours of bone marrow, typically affecting children
How do Ewing’s Sarcomas typically present?
- warm swelling associated with raised inflammatory markers and a fever
- usually young males (between age 10-20)

Management for Ewing’s sarcoma?
combination of chemotherapy, radiotherapy and surgery
