A

Mucous membranes of the nose, cheek, eyelids and conjunctiva

17
Q

Where do superficial cervical Lymoh nodes lie?

A

Anterior- Anterior jugular vein and collect Lymoh from anterior neck
Posterior- external jugular vein and collect lymph from superficial surface of the neck

18
Q

Where do the deep lymph nodes receive lymph from?

A

The whole head and neck

Directly or from superficial

19
Q

What are deep lymphnodes organised into?

A

Vertical chain
Close to the IJV in the carotid sheath
Form jugular lymphatic trunk
Superior and inferior

20
Q

What is virchows node?

A

Supraclavicular mode located in the left supraclavicular fossa
Recieves lymph drainage from the abdominal cavity
Troissiers sign- enlarged and indicates presence of abdomen cancer- gastric cancer

21
Q

What does waldeyers tonsillar ring contain?

A

Lingual tonsils- under tongue
Palatine Tonsils- common tonsils
Tubal Tonsils- nasopharynx
Pharyngeal tonsils- adenoid

22
Q

What is removal of the palatine tonsils called?

A

Tonsillectomy

23
Q

What is quinsy?

A

Infections spreads perionsollar tissue causes absess formation causing deviation of the uvula
Medical emergency and can cause obstruction of the pharynx
Drain absess and antibiotics
