A
- Absorb fluid and other particles from spaces between cells in body cavity, other particles include dead cells or foreign bodies
- carry fluid to lymph vessels

- Part of your circulatory system comprising of lymphatic vessels that carry clear fluid called lymph towards the heart
- collects fluid in body cavity that is not absorbed by capillaries
- returns fluid to your blood
- helps fight pathogens

- Small, bean shaped organs where particles are removed from lymph (many throughout body)
- contain many white blood cells

Releases WBCs which travel to other parts of lymphatic syste, located just above the heart

- filters blood and releases WBCs
- located in the upper left side of the abdomen
- largest lymphatic organ
- old of fragile RBCs are broken down and parts are reused

Contain WBCs that defend the body against infection
