How do you do a myotome examination?
Look for the position of the patients body
Look for wasting, fasciculation’s
Test the tone
Test muscle groups systematically

(Ventral Rami of Lumbar Nerves; Femoral Nerve):
Psoas Major and Minor; Iliacus
How do you test for L2,L3,L4 myotome?
L2/3/4 (Femoral Nerve):
Quadriceps Femoris
How do you test L5/S1/S2 myotome?
L5/S1/S2 (Tibial Nerve; Fibular Nerve)
ST, SM & BF (Long Head); BF (Short Head)
How do you test the L4/L5 Myotome?
L4/L5 (Deep Fibular Nerve):
Tibialis Anterior
How do you test the S1/S2 myotome?
S1/S2 (Tibial Nerve):
Gastrocnemius and Soleus
How do you test L5/S1/S2 myotome (Superficial Fibular Nerve)?
