-Hand on medial PSIS, knee to 90, internal rotation
-Positive: Pain in SIJ (positive), Pain in illeofemoral (hip pathology)

-Bringing leg into hyperextension/prone
-Positive: Pain in SIJ (SI dysfunction), Pain in anterior thigh (tight hip flexors)
The Drop Test
-Postive: Dropping heal causes SI Pain

-Pain in SIJ (SIJ Pathology), Pain in hip (iliofemoral pathology )

-Positive: Sciatic Nerve Compression d/t Piriformis Involvement

Straight Leg Raise
-Positive: 0-30 (SI Lesion, Piriformis Syndrome), 30-70 (Sciatic Nerve Root irritation), 70+ (Lumbar nerve Involvement)
Bragard’s Test
-SLR minus 5 degrees/Add dorsi
-Positive: 0-30 (Extradural Sciatic Nerve Root Irritation), 30-70 (Intradural Nerve Root Irritation), Dull Posterior Leg (Tight muscles)
Sicards Test
-Bragards minus 5 degrees, added greater toe extension
-Positive: Stretching of the dura mater (spinal cord) or lesion within the spinal cord

-Extend unaffected leg
-Positive: Pain in contra lateral leg is indicative of central or median disc protrusion
Fajersztajn’s Sign
Well Leg Raise-5 degrees
-Positive: Pain in CL leg

-Fingers between lumbar SPs, looking for pain/fanning
-Positives: 0-30: SI Lesion, 30-70 Intradural Nerve Root Lesion, 70+: Posterior lumbar joint disorder
Lasague
-Positive: Pain w/ Knee Extension-Sciatic Radiculopathy
Bowstring Sign
-Support leg w/ shoulder, thumb contact to hamstrings then popliteal fossa (if no pain with hamstrings)
-Positives: Pain in Lumbar region or Radiculopathy = sciatic nerve compression
Betcherews Test
-Positives: Pain during movement, needing to lean back or support arms to do movement = sciatic nerve or lumbar nerve root compression d/t lumbar disc protrusion
Knee Flexion Test
-Positives: Lumbar Disc, lumbosacral or SI problem during bent knee touching toes
Slump Test
-Slump posture>Added pressure on shoulders>neck flexion>added pressure>knee extension>added dorsi flexion
-Neck extended should lessen symptoms if positive or experiencing pain
-Positive: Meningeal Tract Irritation
Thomas Test
-Test Bilaterally
-Positive: If CL knee comes off table, then flexion contracture of the iliopsoas muscle
Lewin Supine
-Postives: Unable to do test = weak abdominal muscles, lumbar arthritis, lumbar ankylosis, lumbar disc protrusion, sciatica
Millgrams
-Positives: Weak Abdominals, space occupying lesion inside or outside of the spinal canal or disc protrusion
Beevor Sign
-Postive: Umbilicus not moving in straight line = pathological neurological condition
Prone Knee Bending (Nachlas)
Positives: Radicular Thigh pain (L2-4 compression or Intradural lesion), pain in buttock (SI Lesion), pain in lumbosacral (lumbosacral lesion)
Kemp’s Test
Positives: Local Lumbar Pain (Disc Herniation), No Pain (Lumbar Muscle Spasm or facet Capsulitis)

-Postive: Spinal Instability

-Positive: Pain in resting position that goes away with muscle contraction
