What will happen to the Thot Average indications if power is lost to APC-1 or APC-2?
- APC-1:*
- *Display Data Lost**
- APC-2:*
- *Fails in erratic manor**
Once APC-2 is reset, Thot will fail low. (Automatic protective actions will occur)
- Note:*
- Loop 1 is Train “A”,* Loop 2 is Train “D”, Loop 3 is Train “B”, Loop 4 is Train “C.”
- LOT 202.44 QDPS*
- *
What will happen to the SG PORVs if power is lost to APC-1 or APC-2?
- APC-1:*
- *Data will not be available on DPUs**
- APC-2:*
- *Fails closed**
- When power returns, valve shifts to manual w/ a setpoint of 1225 psig*
- Can operate SG PORVs locally when APC-2 lost by manipulating 2 valves on actuator assembly.
- Controlled from upper section of APC-2.
- Note:*
- If power to ESF MCC’s are lost, place associated SG PORVs in manual, close the SG PORVs, and dispatch operator to place station blackout power bypass sw. to bypass.
- This returns control back to MCR.
- Train “A” MCCs power SG PORV hydraulic pumps A and D.

What will happen to the Rx Head Vents if power is lost to APC-2?
Will close if opened
Controlled from upper section of APC-2.

- *
Where are the demultiplexers physically located?
- MCR:*
- *Behind CP002**
- *Behind CP018**

- ASP:*
- *Behind ASP**
Powered from DP005

- *
What will happen to the AFW control valves if power is lost to APC-1 or APC-2?
- APC-1:*
- *DPU Data is lost**
- APC-2:*
- *Flow Control Valves fail As-Is**
- *Flow indicators will read 0 gpm**
- On CP006 and QDPS*
- Can still be controlled in manual if APC-2 lost.
- Controlled from upper section of APC-2.
- LOT 202.44 QDPS*
- *
How does the lower section of the APC-2 cabinets provide a Thot average signal?
Each APC-2 averages Thot in its respective loop
Each loop uses 3 RTDs (120˚ apart)
Uses Power Correction fraction to minimize streaming effects
- If 1 RTD lost, results in POOR signal but all 3 RTDs still used
- Must dispatch I&C to force RTD to BAD status so only 2 RTDs used in calculation
- Note:*
- Failure of 2 RTDs in 1 loop results in alarm on CP005.*
- LOT 202.44 QDPS*
- *
What powers the various components in QDPS?
- APC-1s and APC-2s:*
- *DP1201 - DP1204**
- DPUs:*
- *DP001/DP002**
- Plasma Displays:*
- *DP001/DP002**
- Demultipliers:*
- *DP005**
- CP002/CP018/ASP*
- RPU-N:*
- *DP006**
- LOT 202.44 QDPS*
- *
What will happen to the SGNR Level compensation if power is lost to APC-1 or APC-2?
- APC-1:*
- *Display information Lost**
APC-2:
Fails in erratic manor
Backfed through 7300 cabinets
Results in erroneous indications
Controlled by bottom section of APC-2.
- LOT 202.44 QDPS*
- *
How does the AFW control valves respond during a AFW actuation?
- APC-2:*
- *Flow Controlled between 550 gpm - 640 gpm**
- Does not look at SGWL just AFW flow*
- Manual:*
- *Operator can manually jog valve as long as APC-2 not actively adjusting flow.**
APC-2 will return flow to band once sw. released.
If switched held by operator until full open reached, APC-2 will retake control and return flow to band.
- Note:*
- Resetting AFW isolation allows operator to go < 550 gpm but APC-2 will return flow to ≤ 605 gpm (640 gpm - 35 gpm B/D) once operator releases sw. or full open reached.*
- LOT 202.44 QDPS*

Class 1E systems are those electrical and electronic systems and components that are essential for what?
Emergency Rx S/D
Rx Core Cooling
Containment Isolation
Containment Heat Removal
Prevent release to environment
- LOT 202.44 QDPS*
- *
How does the lower section of the APC-2 cabinets provide a compensated SGNR level signal?
- *Each APC-2 cabinet (4) provides a D/P level transmitter and 2 strap-on RTDs per SG**
- Highest RTD used for compensaton*
SGNR Level sent to 7300 cabinets and DPUs
- If 1 RTD outside band (50 ˚F - 420 ˚F), other RTD used
- If both outside band, uncompensated level sent
- Results in alarm on CP006
- Note:*
- A loss of a single APC-2 cabinet will result in [1/4 on 4/4] and will not trip the Rx. [2/4 on 1/4]*
- LOT 202.44 QDPS*
- *
The upper section of the APC-2 cabinets provide valve control for which valves?
- *SG PORVs**
- Manual AND Automatic*
- *AFW throttle valves**
- Automatic ONLY*
- *Rx head vent valves**
- Manual ONLY*
SG PORVs controlled from MCR AND ASP.

What is used to calculate the QDPS RCS Subcooling value?
RCS Saturation Temp - Max Quad Thermocouple Avg
DPU does RCS Subcooling and RVWL.
- Note:*
- Uses average of the 3 RCS wide range pressures to calculate RCS Saturation temp.*
