What is our approach to council tax?
Local people will continue to have the final say and can veto excessive rises.
What is our ambition for English devolution, and how will we do this?
An ambition for full devolution across England, building on the successful devolution of powers to city region mayors, PCCs, etc., so that every part of the country has the power to shape its own destiny. We will publish an English Devolution White Paper in 2020.
What have City and Growth Deals done?
Already delivered more than £9 billion of funding across England, and almost £3 billion across Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
What will we do with the recommendations of Lord Dunlop’s Independent Review into UK Government Union capability?
When it is published, we will carefully consider the findings as we work to strenghten our Union going forward.
What will we do to the Fixed Term Parliaments Act?
Scrap it - it led to paralysis when the country needed decisive action.
What will we do about parliamentary boundaries?
Ensure we have updated and equal parliamentary boundaries, making sure that every vote counts the same.
What is our approach to FPTP?
Continute to support it as it allows voters to kick out politicians who don’t deliver.
How will we ensure the integrity of our voting process?
Introduce identification at polling stations, stopping postal vote harvesting, and measures to prevent foreign interference.
How will we make it easier for expats to vote in parliamentary elections?
Get ride of the arbitrary 15-year limit on their voting rights.
What is our approach to the voting age?
Maintain it at 18, the age at which one gains full citizenship rights.
What will we establish to consider constitutional matters?
A Constitution, Democracy & Rights Commission, which will exmaine issues in depth and come up with proposals to restore trust in our institutions and in how our democracy operates.
What will we do about high-paid civil servants who move between jobs?
Ensure redundancy payments can be clawed back.
In 2020, what cash boost did the devolved administrations receive?
