what is meant by providing quality assurance in care settings?
Regulating and Inspecting Health, Social Care and Child Care Services, making sure that the setting is set for it’s purpose and it’ givening the best care possible.
what are national initiatives?
work for the government, that’s recognised by the government.
what is the purpose of the care quality commission (CQC)?
Regulates, issues licences and inspects all health and social care services in England.
what does CQC stand for?
care quality commission
what are some examples that the care quality commission (CQC) might look at?
all hospitals, doctors surgeries, residential care homes, etc
why are the inspections from the CQC so important?
they help to ensure that all essential ‘standards’ of quality and safety are met. like health and safety safeguarding.
where are the CQC reports published?
on the CQC website, on the organisations website and within the setting.
what happens if standards don’t appear to be met during the CQC inspection?
different actions can take place including warnings, fines and closures, or notice time for improvements.
what does Ofsted stand for?
office for standards in education
what does the Ofsted do?
they inspect and regulates services that care for children and young people.
what is identified during the report being published from Ofsted?
Publishes a report that identifies good practice and areas for improvement, this can take 6 weeks after the inspection.
what happens if Ofsted grades a child care setting as inadequate?
the setting is placed in ‘special measures’.
what happens when a child care setting is placed into special measure from Ofsted?
The setting will be provided with extra support, funding and resources to aid improvement.
what does EHRC stand for?
Equality and Human Rights Commission
what does the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) do?
Provides information to people so that they know their rights.
