1. offenders gain employment (without declaring any convictions) is they have a basic DBS.
2. by achieving no convictions during their rehabilitation period they get this opportunity by only being in prison for less than 4 years.
3. once someone convictions are ‘spent’ (hidden) using a basic DBS they can work normally. however not with children or vulnerable groups of people as they will need an enhanced DBS (which shows their convictions).
