what does the data protection act protect?
A
written, spoken, stored on a film, tape recordings, computers, USBs, protected with a password ect.

what does the data protection act include?
A
protections of your personal data, we all have the right to know what data is held about us, we all have the right to access our own data and paper docs must be shredded when not needed any more.

what does the act cover?
A
obtaining (collecting data), recorded (stored correctly - can be changed if incorrect), storing, accessing (for a purpose), sharing (need to know basis) and the disposal of information (eg shredding of information).

5 points about the acts protection.
A
- used only for the purpose of which it’s intended to be used for.
- adequate and relevant but not excessive.
- accurate up to date
- secure.
- any gossiping about someone data needs to be done in a private room.
