What is a Router?
Routers forward data packets between networks - with the ability to form a LAN by connecting devices within a building.
What is a Modem?
A modem is a device that converts computer signals into analogue signals for transmission over an existing telephone line. The modem also reverses this process to enable a computer to process the data.
What is a Network Hub?
Network Hubs are the central connection point for all devices on a network.
What is a Hybrid Network Hub?
A Hybrid Network Hub provides internet access using both wireless and wired methods.
What are Network Switches?
Network Switches are devices that receive data packets / transmissions, processes them, and forwards them onto specific devices.
What are ADSL Lines?
Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line (ADSL) modems use existing telephone networks, and are faster at downloading data, than uploading data.
What are Network Interface Controllers?
Network Interface Controllers enable desktop computers to connect to a network. Consisting of small circuit boards connected to the motherboard.
What are WAPs?
Wireless Access Points (WAPs) are required to connect to a network wirelessly.
