At least one light per station has to be operational for dispatch. There is also 2 white position light bulbs at the rear of the tail cone, 0 is required for dispatch.

When will the emergency lights be turned on, and for how long will they last?

A

Whenever the DC electrical system is off line the emergency lights are automatically turned ON. Power for the emergency lights comes from dedicated batteries that are kept charged by the normal electrical system, transforming AC to DC power. Fully charged batteries will give about 15 min of emergency light. The lights can be activated both from the cockpit and from the cabin.
