When you tweak Printer Preferences settings, where do those settings apply to?
They apply only to the local PC, it doesn’t change the printer hardware itself or affect other user’s settings on their PC
What is the manual feed option in Printing Preferences?
You feed it each paper individually (for one-off items or ones that won’t fit in the paper tray)
What is the ‘Media’ setting?
It selects a paper type
What is the “Multiple Page” setting?
enables you to print multiple document pages on each physical page
What is the “Quality” setting?
To decrease resolution to speed up printing for example and save on ink or toner
What is the header/footer settings?
enable you to add information about when the document was printed and by who
What is the “Collate” option?
allows you to specify the order in which multiple copies of a multi-page document are printed
(For example, if it’s unchecked, if you print 5 copies of a document, the printer will print each page 5 times before moving onto the next document page)
What kind of settings does the Printing Preferences dialog box tweak?
how print jobs should be rendered (quality, color, orientation, etc)
What kind of settings does the Printer Properties dialog box tweak?
it controls the connections between the printer and Windows (security, connectivity, and sharing)
