Lecture 8 Muscles of the Leg and Foot ORIGINS Flashcards
What is the origin of Tibialis Anterior (TA)?
Lateral condyle and upper half of lateral surface of shaft of tibia and interosseus membrane
What is the origin of Extensor Digitorum Longus (EDL)?
Lateral condyle of tibial; upper two third of anterior surface of shaft of fibula and interosseus membrane
What is the origin of Extensor Hallucis Longus (EHL)?
Middle half of anterior surface of shaft of fibula and interosseus membrane
What is the origin of Peroneus Tertius?
Lower third of anterior surface of shaft of fibula and interosseus membrane
What is the origin of Peroneus Longus?
Head of upper 2/3 of the lateral surface of the fibula
What is the origin of Peroneus Brevis?
Lower 2/3 of lateral surface of fibula
What is the origin of Plantaris?
Distal lateral supracondyle ridge of the femur
What is the origin of Gastrocnemius?
Lateral head: lateral aspect of lateral condyle of femur and joint capsule
Medial head: Popliteal surface of the femur above the medial condyle and joint capsule.
What is the origin of Soleus?
Posterior surface of head and upper, third of shaft of fibula soleal line on the tibia and the tendinous arch between tibia and fibula.
What is the origin of Popliteus?
Lateral condyle of femur and lateral miniscus of the knee.
Originates within capsule
What is the origin of Flexor Digitorum Longus (FDL)
The middle 1/3 of the posterior surface of tibia below soleal line.
