Subarctic Disjuncts
like shady and cold conditions, subarctic crustaceans live here as well, these are glacial relicts and disjunct populations
Cedars in the Pet
Very common, often very large here. Among the oldest trees in North America. Important winter food for white tailed deer, who love to eat white cedar.
Wolves
Historically fed on moose, the eastern wolf is originally a southern animal that fed on deer, and probably came north with the deer population. Deforestation also forced wolves to migrate
