Law Of Refridgeration Flashcards
What is the Law of Refrigeration?
Heat flows from an object is hot, to one that is cooler.
The Law of Refrigeration states that heat flows from an object that is hot to one that is cooler.
Where does the absorption of heat occur in fluids when changing from a liquid to vapor?
Evaporator
Heat absorption occurs in fluids when changing from a liquid to vapor in the evaporator component.
Where does the release of heat occur in fluids when changing from vapor to liquid?
Condenser
Heat release occurs in fluids when changing from vapor to liquid in the condenser component.
What are the three states of substances?
Solid, Liquid, Gas
Substances have three states: solid, liquid, and gas.
At what temperature does water exist in each state?
Solid <32°F, Liquid 33°-211°F, Gas >212°F (Boiling Point)
For example, water exists as a solid below 32°F, a liquid between 33°-211°F, and a gas above 212°F (boiling point).
